Flak 37

We’re pleased to show these preview pictures of the 2014 event kit: the German 3.7cm Flak 37 anti-aircraft cannon.  Every Weekend Pass holder will find on of these guns in their goodie bags… But there’s a catch; the minifigs shown will NOT come with the kit!  Instead we are making speciel-edition custom Luftwaffe crewmen for the guns, which you can get in one of two ways: 1.) You can complete a 10×10″ panel of the Cobra King mosaic and get one for FREE our 2.) You will be able to purchase extra crewmen. Some additional kits wand figs will be available for sale at WWB, but they will probably go as fast as last year’s exclusive Jeep kit!

Cobra King

Cobra King Mosaic Build
When: Friday 9am until completed
Location: Main Room
The Battle of the Bulge is one of the main themes of World War Brick 2014 (this being the 70th anniversary) and no image is more iconic than M4A3E2 Jumbo Sherman named Cobra King with it’s inscription “First in Bastogne” after leading the 3rd Army’s relief column into the besieged city. We are recreating this image as a giant mosaic measuring nearly 12 feet wide by 9 feet tall as part of a permanent installation at the Brickmania Toyworks. Participants will build one (or more) 10″ by 10″ sections until all 140 are complete. Participants will be rewarded a special custom-printed minifig for each section completed. If the mosaic is not completed the first day, we will open up participation to the general public on Saturday.

Check out other activities now being added to the Action Page.

Micro Tank Battle

We’re building more sets of Rumrunner’s Micro Tank Battle game for a bracket-style tournament to be held all day Friday during World War Brick. Many people enjoyed played this rapid-paced battle simulation last year at WWB and we’re making it even better! This year we will be holding a tournament where new scenarios and new weapon systems are available as the tournament progresses.  There will be prizes for the quarterfinalists and the grand champion, plus possible bonus games. You must have a Weekend Pass to participate in the tournament.

Look for a full list of activities  to be posted soon!

Black Hawk Down

Brickmania will be unveiling a brand new Battle of Mogadishu diorama at World War Brick 2014! The diorama measures 5 x 6.5 feet and documents several of the main events described in Mark Bowden’s “Black Hawk Down.” More info on this and other exciting new displays will be posted soon. WWB 2014 is less than 12 weeks away… how are your MOCs coming along?

WWB2014SquareLogoMark your calendar!

The next World War Brick military-theme LEGO™ fan convention will be held on the weekend of June 20-22, 2014.  We will once again be convening at the Brickmania Toyworks in Minneapolis, MN USA, home of Brickmania custom LEGO kits. We are in the process of evaluating what worked at this year’s convention and will strive to make next year’s event even better. We have already decided to make more Weekend Passes available, so that even more builders can display their awesome models and participate in the activities.
