Will announced on Flickr today that he will have four new production releases available this weekend at WWB. The first is a brand next X-weapon, the Experimental Light Rifle (XLR) available in black and gunmetal.

IwoJimaMosaic

We’re making a giant mosaic for permanent display at Brickmania Toyworks! Participants will create the mosaic depicting US Marines and a Navy corpsman raising the US flag on Iwo Jima  – the scene that was the basis for Joe Rosenthal’s Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph and an iconic moment in US history. The mosaic will be constructed on 225 10″x10″ baseplates and cover 156 square feet of wall space and will have and incredible 230,400 studs!  This project will be worked on during the entire duration of World War Brick and wil be open to public participation. Participants will be rewarded a custom US Marine minifig for each 10″ x 10″ baseplate completed.

RamadaWe have chosen the Ramada Plaza Minneapolis as the official Hotel of World War Brick 2013. Located just north of Downtown Minneapolis on Interstate 35W and a few minutes from the Brickmania Toyworks.

They have given us a group rate of $95 per night (plus tax) for a double occupancy room with a single King or two Double beds. Call the hotel directly or toll-free 1-877-774-4315 to book your room. Use group code BRICKMANIA. Group rate valid through May 31st or until the hotel reaches capacity.  Brickmania’s will provided limited shuttle services to a from the Ramada.

There are other hotels nearby in downtown Minneapolis and nearby north suburbs.

 

WWB Ticket

World War Brick is a gathering of hobbyists and fans dedicated to modeling historical and military-related scenes, vehicles, and weaponry using LEGO® brand bricks. The Weekend Pass is your all-access ticket to all the action at World War Brick 2013.

The Weekend Pass gets you the following:

  • Access to all official World War Brick activities happening 9am-9pm Friday and Saturday, and 9am to 7pm Sunday evening.
  • Space to display your MOCs (MOC=My Own Creation) and participate in collaborative displays.
  • First crack at all all the stuff for sale, including new releases and event exclusives.
  • All-you-can-eat ramen noodle buffet throughout the event, with “real food” provided Friday and Saturday at dinnertime.
  • Goodie bag including an exclusive event T-shirt, event kit, exclusive items from our sponsors and more (you must be registered with a weekend pass by June 1st to receive the free T-shirt)

Weekend Pass purchasers must be 15 years of age or accompanied by an parent or guardian with their own weekend pass. The price for a weekend pass is $50 if purchased by April 1, 2013, after April 1st, weekend pass will be $60.  There will be a limited number of Weekend Passes issued.

PUBLIC EXHIBIT

If you do not wish to attend the full World War Brick gathering, you can see the exhibits and make purchases during one the public hours. These are 10am-4pm Saturday and Sunday only. Admission costs $5 per person. Children four and under are free. Discounted tickets for the general public will be for sale starting in April.
